Sprays Too Early or Late? Guide to Geometry Calibration
Resolving Delay Issues in Section Control (On/Off)
Symptom: The sprayer activates sections either before reaching the weeds or after passing them (delay).
Solution 1: Check Physical Measurements (Most Important)
Most errors are caused by incorrect settings. Verify the following in the app:
-
Width and Height: Is the distance from the sensor to the outermost nozzle and the height above the ground entered correctly? Incorrect height changes the sensor’s field of view.
-
Sensor to ISOBUS Connector: Have you measured the distance from the sensor’s roof position to the ISOBUS connector (IBBC) correctly? This tells the system how long the signal takes to reach the sprayer.
Solution 2: “Speed Delay” (Fine-Tuning)
If physical measurements are correct but there is still a small delay, you can use “Speed Delay” in General Config.
Warning: Only adjust this if the physical measurements are confirmed correct. Incorrect use can worsen the issue.
Solution 3: Buffer for Slow Valves
If your sprayer’s solenoid valves are slow to open/close, increase the Target Buffer Zone. This makes the sprayer open slightly earlier and close slightly later to compensate.
