How to Adjust Green Sensitivity and Buffer
Help the user fine-tune the sensor if it misses weeds or sprays too much.
1. Green Sensitivity
What it does: Determines how “little” green is needed to trigger the sprayer.
-
Small weeds: Increase sensitivity. However, there is a risk of false positives.
-
Large weeds / Dark background: Decrease sensitivity to avoid mistakes.
-
Test: Use the “Live View” in the app to see what the sensor detects before driving.
2. Buffer Size
What it does: Expands the area sprayed around the weed to compensate for nozzle delay.
-
High speed / Small weeds: Increase the buffer (e.g., to 50 cm). This ensures the nozzle has time to open before passing the weed.
-
Low speed / Large weeds: Reduce the buffer to save more chemicals.
Tip: Always keep camera lenses clean. Dust and pollen can quickly blind the sensor, especially in “Green on Brown” mode.
