How to Ensure Precision: Cleaning Camera Lenses
Explain the Importance of Clean Lenses to Avoid Errors in Spot Spraying
Why Is It Important? Dust, pollen, and chemical residues (especially oil-based products) can quickly accumulate on the lenses. If the sensor is dirty, it cannot distinguish between weeds and soil, which reduces precision.
When Should You Clean?
-
Every time: Before starting a “Green on Brown” task, as contrast is crucial here.
-
Regularly: Especially in dusty conditions or after driving with spreaders/adhesive products.
Cleaning the Light Sensor: Clean the top of the sensor where the light sensor is located. A dirty light sensor can result in an overly bright image in “Live View.”
How to Clean: Visually check the lenses before starting. Use a soft cloth to gently remove dirt. If the image in the app’s “Live View” looks foggy or unclear, it’s time to clean.
