Guide to Spot Spraying (Green on Brown & Green on Yellow)
Ensure correct execution of spot spraying to maximize savings.
Green on Brown (Pre-Emergence)
What it does: The sensor detects all green against the brown soil. Even a small patch of 50 cm is enough to trigger the sprayer.
Use: Weed control before the crop emerges.
Tip: Watch out for large straw pieces or dark, wet soil areas that may look like weeds. Adjust sensitivity accordingly.
Green on Yellow (Desiccation/Burndown)
What it does: The sensor detects green plants (weeds) in a yellow/mature crop or stubble.
Important: Should only be applied when the crop is fully mature and yellow/brown. If the crop is still green, you risk spraying it.
Requirements for Spot Spraying:
-
Speed: Ideally drive between 8–12 km/h. Driving over 14 km/h may cause you to miss weeds.
-
Light: Only operate in daylight (from one hour after sunrise to one hour before sunset) for optimal contrast. Night operations are not supported for spot spraying.
